J-dilla is one of my all-time favourite hip hop dj's and producers,
he has recorded amazing tracks with guys like Common, De La Soul,
A tribe called Quest and of course Slum village...

he suffered from a rare blood disease and died on february 10, 2006.
His last regular LP 'Donuts' which was mostly recorded in the hospital
and released only three days before his death still gives me
the chills everytime I listen to it.

Rest in peace James.
